The promise becomes a campaign
After the rainy season, Sugriva sent search parties in different directions. The alliance had moved from an agreement between leaders into work performed by many others. Each group faced uncertainty about where to look, what information to trust and how long to continue. The southern party, which included Hanuman, Angada and Jambavan, reached a point where effort alone no longer seemed to be producing a way forward.
The witness they could not have planned for
Sampati, Jatayu’s brother, supplied information about Sita in Lanka. His connection to the bird who had tried to stop the abduction created a remarkable link across the search. An earlier act of courage and a later act of testimony belonged to the same family. The new information changed the question from where Sita might be to how anyone could reach the place she was being held.
Someone remembers Hanuman’s strength
At the ocean, the group confronted a barrier its search instructions could not remove. Jambavan reminded Hanuman of his capabilities and encouraged him to attempt the crossing. The decisive resource was already among them, but it needed to be recognised and brought into use. The search had depended on splitting into teams; now it depended on choosing one person for an extraordinary task. Hanuman prepared to move from gathering clues to carrying the mission across the sea.
A thought to take with you
Life today
Sometimes encouragement means reminding a person of a strength they have stopped seeing.
A strategy to notice
Divide a broad search, then bring the findings together at a clear decision point.
What would you do?
How would you help a capable teammate act without taking the task away from them?
What does your choice protect? Who carries the cost? What could change your mind?
